Thank You Owls

Hello its Alli here today and I hope you managed to survive storm Kathrine over Easter and are ready to get creative and crafty. I love how competitively priced the dinkie stamps are and as my big sister says "it`s not what you've got it`s what you do with it" so just because they are small doesn't mean you have to make small cards. I`ve made this card using the new dinkies 3 Owls stamp and they are so easy to colour.

what you will need:
LC Designs Dinkies 3 Owls stamp
LC Designs Wavy Doggies stamp set
LC Designs Black and White paper pack - owls paper
15.6cm x 12.5cm base card
white card to stamp onto
copy paper
black mat card/paper
beige paper
black Versa Fine ink pad
pastel chalks and applicator
black fine tip pen
ruler

Stick the black paper onto the base card and mat and layer the beige paper on top of the black paper.

Cut the owl paper to 10.8cm x 14cm and blend the chalk colours over the paper (the paper I have used is no longer on sale so if you haven't got any then use any predominantly white paper with a black outline pattern or white with black dots).
Mat and layer the coloured background onto black paper and then stick the paper onto the centre of the base card.

Draw a line onto white card using a black fine tip pen and a ruler.
Stamp the dinkies 3 Owls stamp twice onto the card so that the feet of the owls rest on the black line.
Using the black Versa Fine ink pad stamp the sentiment "Thank you for being there x" twice under the black line.
Stamp the image twice onto copy paper and cut out the owls. Stick the owls onto the card to make masks.
Cut the image topper to size (about 5cm x 13.5cm) and colour with the pastel chalks as you did for the background paper. Remove the masks and colour in the owls.
Mat and layer the coloured topper onto black paper and make sure that the edges of the black paper match up with the edge of the backing paper.
Stick the topper onto the base card.

Monthly Challenge Inspiration–Lisa

Morning All! It’s Lisa here with a quick reminder of our current monthly challenge and a closer look at my challenge project.

The theme of our current challenge is ‘Anything Goes’ and you can find all the details on the challenge post, here on the blog. We would love to see your cards entered in the challenge and there's a fabulous prize on offer for the winner!

For my challenge project I’ve used Dinkies Flowerhead stamp:

flowerhead

Here is my card:

Dinkies Flowerhead (1)

Supplies:

Step by Step:
  1. Cut a 13cm square piece of Dotty Paper and mat onto aqua, then cream card. Fix to the card blank.
  2. Cut a 9cm square piece of Gingham Paper and stamp the sentiment onto the top right. Mat onto aqua card and fix to the card blank using foam pads.
  3. Stamp the flower three times onto white stamping card and colour using alcohol markers.
  4. Cut out the flowers and fix them to the bottom left corner of the gingham square using a wet glue.
  5. Whilst the glue of the flowers is still wet die cut some leaves (mine was from a larger die so I trimmed into three smaller pieces) and fix under the flowers.
  6. Decorate with pearls or gems and add glitter glue to the flower centres.

I hope you like my project and are inspired to try something similar. My blog is www.craftingbelle.blogspot.com if you would like to see some more projects.

The best thing about Easter ... It has to be knowing that Spring is in the air, the world is waking up. Also the joy of giving eggs to my Grandchildren, a special time, no matter how old they are. Daffodils, primroses, and trees just coming into bud, not to mention the lambs in the field next to us. But the most special thought is to remember Dad who's birthday was 28th March, who passed away 19 years ago but always remembered at this time of year.
Fantastic prize.

Hazel
Love the Rain Hogs. Easter to me is Egg & Spoon races, egg hunts, the garden waking up & the birds busy nesting.
Enjoy!   Hazel

Well done ladies, please contact Gill with your details.

Monthly Stamp Challenge Inspiration - Alli

Happy Easter to all you crafty people I hope you are enjoying a nice long week end and what better time to be doing your hobbies. Today it is my turn to share my DT card for this months stamp challenge and I have made a this card as inspiration for all you crafters who might be having trouble with your mojo. I have used muted colours which I think looks a little bit shabby chic and a fantastic fun stamp of Elephants. I have used a Craftwork Cards die cut flower pad to make the big flower and I just assumed that it would still be on sale but when I have looked on their web site it isn't and I don't know what the design is called so I do apologise. Craftwork Cards do still sell die cut flower packs and the colours of some of them would work with this card or the Tim Holtz Tatty Flowers die is quite a large flower die and you could use some of the other papers in the Nit Wit paper pad to make the flower.

what you will need:
LC Designs digi Elephants in Squares stamp
Woodware Clear Magic sentiment stamps
Nitwit Collections Pastel Dreams 8" x 8" paper pad - blue spot
Craftwork Cards die cut flower pad in pinks and blues
6" x 6" white base card
good quality white card to print onto
pink card
black Versa Fine ink pad
pale pink bakers twine
pink glitter card scraps
blue card scraps
silver brad
silver heart charm
small flower punch
small hole punch
Tim Holts Tumbled Glass Distress Ink

Cut a piece of pink card to mat and layer onto the white base card and stick into position.a
Cut the Nitwit Pastel Dreams blue spot paper to mat and layer onto the pink card but do not stick down.
Cut 2 pieces of pink bakers twine long enough to wrap the ends around the back of the card.
Tie the two pieces of twine together with a knot about 1/3 down from the top.
Place the bakers twine to the blue spot paper so the knot is about 1 1/4" down and 1 1/2" in from the right hand side of the card, spread the two pieces of twine and secure the top of the twine around the back of the card with tape.
Thread the silver heart charm onto the right hand thread and then spread the threads apart and secure with tape at the back of the paper.
Leave the charm loose for now.
Mat and layer the blue spotted paper onto the base card.

Open your Elephants in Squares digi stamp in your graphics program and re size so that the image measures 2 15/16 from side to side.
Print the image onto good quality white cad.
Trim the image down to size and colour it in.
Mat and layer the coloured image onto pink card.
Stick the image onto the base card at a jaunty angle.
Punch 6 small flowers from the pink glitter paper (I used a Fiskers border punch to make the small flower), stick into position on the topper.dots using the blue card and the small
Punch 6 dots using the blue card and the small hole punch, stick one dot at the centre of each flower.

Pop out 3 of the Craftwork Card die cut flowers and shape them.
Shade the edges of the petals with the Tim Holts Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.
Stick the flower layers together.
Place a silver brad at the centre of the flower.
Stick the flower onto the base card.
Stick the silver heart charm to the blue spotted paper.

Using the Woodware sentiment stamp Best Wishes and the black Versa Fine ink pad stamp the sentiment onto the base card.

This can be made with just one piece of A4 card, a piece of ribbon, 2 irresistible images, two buttons and your favourite stamp and ink pad...

With the card longest side along your scoreboard,
score the sheet of card at 2, 5, 7 and 10 inches.

The ares with scribble on will be discarded.

Take your favourite stamp and ink pad - I used 'Almost Amethyst' and a little stamp from one of my LC Designs Sets - and stamp randomly over the card.

Remove the excess pieces of card, cut the slits along the bottom, use a corner rounder on the top flap, cut small triangles of the edge flap and you should end up with this:

Assemble the box , glueing together the sides and the bottom. for the bottom, first fold in the small flaps, then the large ones. Punch two holes in the top flap, mark where they match the box with a pencil and make holes in the box side:

Place the images on front and back - and I added butterfly buttons.
Thread a ribbon through the holes and tie...

Monthly Challenge Inspiration - Susan R

Hi Susan here!!

Just wanted to remind you of the stamping Challenge Anything Goes !

The prize on offer is...

WOW!

I used the Wavy Baby Stamp Set to make 3 cards...

I used pearlescent card blanks with circles/ovals of LC Designs Papers. I stamped wavy baby on these and also on extra pearlescent card. My idea was that the wavy line was a washing line - I attached twine to it and punched shapes from the stamped card to add with dimensionals.
I then added pegs...

Do join the Challenge making a project to follow the theme!

Thursday Blog Project with Sarah - Box Frame Sampler

Good Morning Everyone!

It's Sarah here with a new LC Designs Project. I decided to raid my stamps and use lots of the 'dinkie' sized stamps for this 9 square sampler.

Here is a list of materials and products I used for this project:

8 x 8 Wooden Box Frame
Little Claire Stamp - At Home Stamp Set
Little Claire Stamp - Tea Party Stamp Set
Little Claire Digi-Stamp -  Trailing Birdhouse 2
Little Claire Stamps - Dinkie Pincushion Birdy
Little Claire Stamp - Dinkie Single Flowers Hedgehog Stamp
Little Claire Stamp - Dinkie Butterfly Cat Stamp
Little Claire Stamp - Butterfly Flourish Stamp Set
Little Claire Stamp - Dinkie Boxed Dandelion
Little Claire Stamp - Butterfly Tree Stamp Set
Smooth white Card Stock - to stamp and print on
2 Inch Square Die
White leaves embossed paper
  Distress Inks, Watercolour Brush
Various coloured Pearls
Foam pads and Glue

I stamped 9 different images I thought would look nice in a sampler and cut them out using a 2" square die. If the stamped image was larger than the die I cut around the over hang of the stamped part and layed this over the die so it would not cut (as above). I also cut on my guillotine 9 x 2 1/2" squares for boarders.

I trimmed my 12 x 12 paper to 8 x 8 and used 3 Distress Inks to go over the sheet blending in a random pattern to create a background.

I used these colours to ink the 2 1/2" square boarders and also to paint the stamped images with a watercolour brush to create a soft and matching tonal range for each small sampler.

To finish I added different coloured pearls to each piece and then layered these onto the background with foam pads using a thin strip of card for guidance and measuring.

These sampler style art pieces are so pretty. Any colours could be used to match where you wish to hang the frame :)

Thanks for stopping by to take a look, hope you enjoyed the Box Frame Sampler!
