Friday Project with Little Claire

Morning all.

Gaynor here with this week's Friday Blog Project using the Owl Tree Silhouette Stamp - this little stamp is a firm favourite in my Little Claire collection and Fabulous Day- both sets available on the Little Claire Website.

A quickie card that allows creativity - my best form of crafting - a little mess then the "big" reveal! Anyhow on with the piccies:

Using a 6" x 6" base card I masked off the area I didn't wish to be inked.

Using inks of your choice and a little Cut and Dry Foam or any other fabric that won't leave a weave print add colour to the working area.

Ink up the Silhouette Owl Stamp and stamp twice without reinking:

So still looking messy - I normally begin to tidy away at this point...and the reveal:  Add sentiment of your choice, I used the greeting from the Fabulous Day Stamp Set.

I have added gold Liquid Pearls to the branches and Glossy Accents to all the owls on the first stamped image.  Glossy Accents goes cloudy as it dries then dries to pure gloss shine - quite beautiful.

Lastly I added a double line free hand around the four sides to complete the card.

Hope you have enjoyed my little tutorial - over to you! xxGaynor

Mono Flowers Card

Hello its Alli here and today I have made a card using the digi stamp challenge theme of mono for my inspiration. This card was so quick and easy to make because there was no colour matching or colouring in, infact I think it is the easiest card I have ever made. I Hope you like it and I hope it makes you want t enter the digi stamp competition.

what you will need:
Little Claire digi SW Flower stamp
6" x 6" cream base card
black card
A4 cream fine linen paper 120gsm
black fine tip pen
cream jute ribbon
black button (not a button with a shank)
thank you sentiment
small hole punch
clear nail varnish

Using your graphics program open the SW Flower stamp and re size to  4 3/4" from the top of the flower to the bottom of the stem. Whilst you are setting up  a page to print you can make the words for the sentiment. I use Serif Craft Artist and this program has some pre-set sentiments, so chose one and make it 1 1/4" from side to side.
On cream linen paper print the image.
Colour the stems (not the leaves) of the flowers with the fine tip black pen.
Cut around the image and mat and layer it onto black card and then onto cream linen paper.
Punch two small dots from the black paper and bevel them (I use the rounded end of a small paint brush and the palm of my hand to bevel small things). Stick the two dots onto the topper.

Cut a piece of black card to mat and layer onto the cream base card but do not stick it down onto the base card.

Stick the flower topper onto the black card.

Take the jute ribbon (mine is just over 1" wide and long enough to secure around the back of the black card) and if it isn't frayed on the top and bottom edges then fray it.
Cut another piece of the jute to 3" x 1 1/4" and fray along all the edges. Decide where the jute ribbon will line up with the flower stems and at this point tie on the 3 1/4" piece of jute.
Secure the jute ribbon to the card. Paint the underside of the bow part with clear nail varnish to stop the jute from fraying and leave it to rest on acetate or greaseproof paper till dry.
Tie jute threads onto the black button and then stick the button onto bow part of the ribbon.

Stick the black card topper onto the base card.

Cut the sentiment down to size and stick into position on the card.

Of course you don't have to use black and cream as your colour scheme, I did think about using black and blue or black and pink and those Ombre papers from Little Clare would work really well too.

Fun Flower Pot

Morning guys,

Diane here again with a fun flower pot card for you to make using Little Claires "Flowerhead" stamp.

Pull the flowers up and you can add your sentiment !!

You will need:
LC "Flowerhead" stamp
LC sentiment from "Swirlball Flower set"
A piece of brown card 4 1/2" x 12" for pot
Another piece 3 1/8" x 6 1/2" for insert
A piece of cream card 2 3/4" x  6 1/8"
cream 1 3/4" scallop circle
Patten paper (dark)
Patten paper (light)
Two embossing folders
A piece of lace
One heart jem
3D foam tape
Black pen

1: take your 4 1/2" x 12" brown card and score at 5" and 10"

2: Turn your card and fold up bottom to 10" score mark. Now mark 1/2 in on both sides at bottom and draw a line from these up to 10" score mark to outer edges as seen in photo. Now cut along lines to form pot shape.

3:Next emboss pot shape with a pattern of your choice, then emboss the top flap with a different embossing folder of your choice. Now fold back this top flap to create the top of the pot., don't fold it forward as it will close the top, you want the top open.

4: Put a spot of glue on the two outer edges at the top of your pot leaving most of the top open and the sides.

5: Glue a piece of lace round pot flap, then add a piece of 3d foam tape under flap and stick down. Now add a lace bow.

6: Next stamp sentiment onto a 1 3/4" cream scallop circle, add small heart jem and attach under bow.

Now for the flower insert:

1: Mount the cream 2 3/4" x  6 1/8" onto the brown  3 1/8" x 6 1/2", next  push into the top of flower pot till it touches the bottom. Attach three pieces of 3D foam tape to the 1 1/2" that is now showing above pot top.

You will need to make five flowers:

For each flower you need to stamp and cut out,
  one dark flower head
 and one light flower head
 one dark centre
 one light center

from your pattern papers. On the lighter flower head you need to colour in the seed heads with a black pen.

To give your flowers a bit of a shape  use a big round embossing tool and a soft mat and work in small circles on back of each petal to give it a dome shape, then glue the light flower head on top of dark flower head adding dark centre followed by light centre using 3d foam tape .

Still with me.....nearly finished...

Arrange all five flowers onto the 3d foam tape on top of insert, three at bottom and two at top. The bottom three flowers will  hang over the top of the flower pot.

Now all you have to do is have a cupper......... and write your special greeting on the insert and give it too the person you love most !!

  hugs Diane xx

Winners of Mono Magic Paper Stacks Competition

Apologies to everyone who entered our competition on 29 April - due to a slight technical hitch, we were unable to announce the winners on 7 May as stated and then we totally forgot - oops!
Anyway, here are the winners....

These papers are just so useable. Unfortunately my leg is in plaster and have difficulty walking with both legs so with one I have no hope but it doesn't stop the crafting. Have a good weekend all. Karen from Durham

What a brilliant idea! I am hoping to do some card making at the weekend - the weather is not going to be good, so it is a good chance to 'catch up' on supplies! Glennis

I'm liking these paper pads....so useful! This weekend I am getting together with some of the family, and the rest of it I plan to make all my cards needed for May, particularly if the weather is not so kind to us! Janice

Well done ladies, please contact Carol to claim your prize!

Hi Alli here and today I have made a card with the Little Claire April stamp challenge "using craft card" in mind (even though it ends soon). This card does have a lot going on but for someone special it would be well worth the effort and once you start it doesn't take too long to make.

what you will need:
Little Claire Fabulous Day stamp set
Little Claire Postcard Sentiment Stamps
cream 6" x 6" base card
My Craft Studio Elite Summer Rosa & Winter Flora CD
craft card
white card to stamp onto
cream card to stamp onto
good quality print paper about 220gsm
Spellbinders Nestabilities Dies - Labels 17
die cutting machine
lacy corner die
Tim Holtz distress inks - Vintage Photo, Victorian Velvet & cut n Dry
1 1/2" Cream lace ribbon
colouring in implements
various embellishments
needle and cream thread
Memento ink pad - Rich Cocoa
Versa Fine ink pad
emery board

Using your graphics programme select the image background No 1 from the My Craft Studio CD.
Shrink the image till it measures just less than 6" from side to side and then crop the image from the top down to measure 6".
Select the image No45 and turn it 45 degrees and then crop it down to measure 2 7/8" x 5 1/2".
Arrange the two images on your screen to make the most of your paper and then print.
Cut the lager image down to mat and layer onto the cream base card but do not stick it down.

Tear the smaller image No 45 paper (using a ruler) to the desired size but do not tear along the top of the image.
Using the Cut n Dry and the Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink shade the edges of the two pieces of printed paper and then repeat using the Victorian Velvet.

Stick the smaller torn paper in position on the image No 1 paper and cut the top level with the lager paper.
Distress the edges with an emery board.

Stamp the char image from the Fabulous Day stamp set using the Versa Fine ink pad.
Using the 2nd largest die from the Spellbinders Nestabilities Dies - Labels 17 set secure it in place over the stamped image and run through the die cutting machine.
Colour the image in.
Apply the Tim Holtz Vintage Photo using the Cut n Dry to the edge of the die cut to give an aged effect.

Tear some craft card (using a ruler) to a desired size to mat and layer under the image topper.
Shade the edges of the craft card with the Vintage Photo ink using Cut n Dry.
Place the craft card onto the printed papers and mark the points where the card would intersect any sewing line.
Sew around the printed paper (image No 45) where it will not be covered by the craft card.
Stick the craft card into position.
Mat and layer these papers onto the cream base card.

Stamp the Little Claire postcard sentiment onto cream card using the Memento Rich Cocoa ink pad.
Cut around the stamped image and shade the edges using the Vintage Photo ink pad and Cut n Dry.
Stick the sentiment into position.

Stick the stamped image topper onto the craft card.

Using a die cut two small lacy corners from the craft card and stick into position.

Make some leaves from green scrap papers you hve in your stash and stick into place.

Two Owls Anniversary Card - Thursday Digi-Stamp Blog Project

Good Morning Peeps!

It's Sarah here with a new Digi-Stamp Project. I have used the fab Digi-Stamp Two Owls. I resized the stamp to a slightly bigger size in Photoshop and printed out the design twice with some extra leaves, to create layers for the card.
Here is a list of materials and products I used for this card:

Computer Font - Bradley Hand ITC
White A4 Card Stock - for base
Blue Script backing paper - Stampin' Up!
Baby Blue Paper
Die - Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables
Promarkers
Blue Buttons

How I made my card:

1/. Print out the Digi-Stamp onto smooth white card and colour in using promarkers.
2/. Cut out the owl image into a rectangle to fit the die cut frame. Cut out the other owls and leaves to layer up onto the main design. Cut out the rectangle frame in blue.
3/. Fold the white card in half for card base.
4/. Glue to the base the patterened paper. Using foam pads attached the small rectangle and the layered up design with the frame.
5/.Glue buttons onto the corners for cute detail!
digi Two Owls
Thanks for stopping by to take a look, hope you enjoyed the card!
