Weekly Blog Project - For Dad

Hi! It's Georgina and it's my turn for the Weekly Blog Project. The card I have made uses the new Manphabet stamp set from Little Claire.

To make this card you will need:
Manphabet stamp set by Little Claire
148x148mm white card blank
Smooth white card
Black card
Post-it notes
Tuxedo Black Memento ink pad
ProMarkers: Black, Lime Green, Royal Blue, Cocoa, Spice, Pastel Blue, Col Grey 2 and 4.

1. Cut a square 13x13cm of smooth white card. Use a ruler and pencil to measure and mark the centre of the four side and then join the points up.

2. Start by stamping the B, R, H and A along the centre of the white card and also onto a Post-it note, as show below. When stamping onto the Post-it note make sure part of the letter is on the front of the sticky top edge.

3. Cut out the letters on the Post-it note and place then over the top of the stamped letter on the white card. Now stamp the remaining letters as show below.

4. Remove the Post-it note letters to reveal BIRTHDAY.

5. Now stamp HAPPY. Firstly stamp H, P and Y first onto the white card and Post-it notes. Then repeat number 3. Then stamp DAD.

6. Use the 'I' stamp to stamp a border around the white card.

7. Coloured the stamped letters with ProMarkers.

8. Cut a square 14x14cm of black card. Attached this and the coloured letter square to the card blank.

I hope you like my Project for today. As each letter stamp is separate you can create any message, name or sentiment you like.

Friday Project - We 3 Ships

Good morning, everyone - it's Helen N here with this week's Friday blog project.  For today's card I've used one of this year's new Christmas stamps 'We Three Ships' and made an easel card with a slight difference.

Here's what you'll need to make the card:

white 14.5cm square card blank
brown ink pad (the older, the better!)
Spellbinders oval dies
Promarkers - Pear Green, Poppy, Cardinal Red, Sandstone, Tan, Buttercup

And here's what you need to do:

1. Place the card blank on the table with the shortest edges facing you.  Measure 4cm from each side along the card fold and cut, making the cut inside the score line.  Then cut down from the score line to the base of the card as shown in the photo below:

2. This is what your card should look like when it's been cut:

3. Next, fold the smaller panel in two to the score line as you would with a normal easel card:

4. Stamp the main image on to the white card using the Memento Ink.  Die cut the image using the second largest oval die and colour in with Promarkers.  Die cut an oval from the kraft paper using the largest of the oval dies and then edge the kraft paper using a brown ink pad.  An older, drier ink pad is best for this - it lets you build up the colour gradually.

5. Next, on the base of the card layer up pieces of kraft and patterned paper as you wish - I've used the red spotted and green spotted paper from the Back to Basics Christmas pack.  The layers I've used are 13.5cm square kraft, 12.5cm square patterned, 10.5cm square kraft and 10cm patterned.  Trim the corners of the folded panel of the card as shown in the photo - this avoids any of the white card being seen underneath or at the sides of the oval panel:

6. Attach the image panel to the kraft oval and then stick this on the front of the white card panel making sure the base of the oval is level with the bottom of the white panel:

7. To make the stopper for the easel, use a piece of kraft paper measuring 13.5cm by 3.5cm and a piece of patterned paper measuring 13.5cm by 3cm.  Use the brown ink pad on the kraft layer and then stick the patterned paper on top.  Stamp the circular sentiment, colour in the stars and attach this to the middle of the stopper:

8. Attach the stopper strip to the base of the card using foam pads and then finish the card with some red gems and Card Candi coloured with Pear Green Promarker.

This type of card construction works just as well with different shaped front panels.  Here's a card I designed for one of the classes at the end of last year using the 'Christmas Owl Tree' stamp which you can find here on the website:

I hope you've enjoyed my project today!  Have a great weekend.

Helen is using Die Cuts, Peel Off Stickers, Stamps, Glitter Film, Ribbons, Shaped Cards....

Deck the Horns

...and beautiful papers and jewels - we are in for a treat!

And in the morning of September 14 we are running a 'Christmas Flora and Fauna' class from 9am - 12pm, again, Helen has designed an amazing selection of cards - here is a peak (hope she doesn't tell me off for this!):

Our beautiful 'Robin and Snowdrop' stamp will be used on the day with a little bit of decoupage...

and we can't resist our gorgeous 'Little One' stamp, such a sweet, innocent image....

If you would like to come along, please click here for more info or call us: 0151 342 5715

Now,  before we forget - we have a winner of our Tea Party comp from last week, we had great fun reading about your favourite hot drinks, really wetted our appetites - poor Steve was kept busy in the kitchen making teas & coffees (keeps him out of trouble) anyway, we couldn't choose only one winner, we had to choose two in the end:

Mags - who said: 'Lovely stamp set. Looks like it could be really versatile. I think my favourite hot drink has to be a nice cup of Latte but am also partial to a nice hot chocolate with all the trimmings - no calories contained lol.
Mags x'

Monnie - who said:  I love a cup of tea 1st thing in the morning. Love the stamp set Little Claire and the design team have made lovely cards as usual, xx

Well done ladies, please contact Carol and she will send your stamp set out to you soonest.
